Crop Cum Cobble Shear

In a rolling mill, a dividing shear is a device used to cut the hot-rolled product into smaller sections of desired lengths. A crop cum cobble shear in a rolling mill is a cutting tool used to trim the front and tail ends of metal bars or profiles during the rolling process. It can also be used to cut sections in case of emergencies or for pre-quenched bars.

These shears are typically of a start/stop type and can be driven by either a pneumatic clutch/brake or a direct current (DC) motor. The main function is to cropping (remove) the front and tail ends of metal bars or profiles. This ensures that the final product has the desired length and shape. In emergencies or when a bar needs to be scrapped, the shear can also be used to cut sections of the material. Pre-quenched Bars: The shears are also used to crop and scrap pre-quenched bars. They are typically used for cropping and are activated or stopped as needed. The shear can be driven by a direct DC motor & DC drive & Controlled by PLC System many modern crop and cobble shears are controlled by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system, allowing for precise control over the cutting process. The PLC control system also helps maintain close tolerances on the cut length. Start-of-the-art Technology: Modern manufacturing processes and technologies are used to ensure high quality and reliability.
