A continuous shear is a crucial component for precisely cutting the rolled TMT bars to desired lengths at high speeds. Continuous Shear is installed after TMT Quenching Box & Cantilever Pinch Roll and before entry of tail breaker – Automatic raceway Cooling bed in TMT Bar Rolling Mill. It is installed in High-Speed Mills preferable of more than 15 meter / second. It can shear from 8-16 mm of TMT Bar through Servo Drive / Pneumatic Cylinder. The Start Stop Flying Shear can cut up to 18m/s with the standard DC motors & The Continuous shear machine motor power is only 60 KW, compared to 130, 175 & 220 KW of Start Stop Flying Shear. The Solutions lies in installing High Speed Continuous Rotating Shear and driven by AC / DC Motor & Drives and The PLC control system also helps maintain close tolerances on the cut length & smooth operation. The Continuous shear machine latest technology-based machine can precise cutting of TMT bars from 12mtr/sec up to 40mtr/sec.
